When I was 10, I took a quiz in Seventeen magazine to find out which color represented my personality best. Because Seventeen quizzes are gospel, I internalized the results and made it part of my body. The color in question is RED. Red and I have enjoyed a long and luscious relationship since that day, exactly two decades ago.
In honor of my favorite color, and because it's February, I'm dedicating this month to all things red. February is a month for love and lovers, broken hearts and sobbing, shards of glass and bloodied bodies, still mooing prime rib and skiing. Most of these things are red, therefore February is red.
This means that every blog post I do this month will be red themed. I'm talking cosmetic reviews, childhood stories of rage, movie reviews on movies about apples, flossing told from the perspective of unhealthy gums, and a detailed report of my menstrual cycle*.
